Here you will find two versions of two scenes from Pinch
of Pavlov, a 2005 DYPF High School Finalist play written by Casey Eros from
Concord High School. In this play,
three best friends getting ready to leave high school find themselves getting
into a huge fight on day when the school bells have broken down and are ringing
out of control. The three friends are:
Linda, the responsible one, Queenie, the wild and crazy one, and Anne, the dumb
blonde. There is also The Voice – the
school official whose disembodied voice comes from the hallway speakers.
Read the first draft of a scene. Then read the second draft of a scene. In the second draft, there are passages of
the text in green, each marked by a letter.
