| * Plays must follow the theme. * Students must be in grades 6 through 12 and enrolled in a Delaware public, private or home school. * Cast Size: Maximum of 5. * Length: 10 - 20 pages. * Minimal sets, props and costumes. * All entries must be original. Screenplays or adaptations are not eligible. * Scripts must be typed in standard playwriting format, include list of characters and setting, have page numbers, and be stapled. Font size must be 12. (See Script Format Templates) * If writing in a group, experience has shown that the most successful collaborations include 2 - 4 participants. However, we do not limit the size of groups. (Solo writing is also acceptable.) * Title Page: Must include the title of the play, name of playwright(s), school name, teacher’s name, grade level(s), home address(es) and home phone number(s). (See Script Format Templates) * Submit two typed copies of first draft. Only one copy will be returned to you. Submit three typed copies of final draft. Deliver plays to Delaware Theatre Company, 200 Water Street, Wilmington, DE 19801. No faxed or emailed submissions. Double-sided copies are acceptable. * The plays will be adjudicated by a member of the DYPF Literary Committee according to a playwriting rubric developed especially for the Delaware Young Playwrights Festival.
